Hello to all. Just joined EMS/AAP as a new editor/typesetter/etc and I couldn't be more excited. I just graduated college at East Carolina University with a degree in Journalism and now I work at a hospital all the way in Nevada. Thank you American Education systems for that result.

I have read manga and watched anime since I can last remember, and I have used that in more than one way. As noted by the thumbnail, I have played hockey since I was a little kid growing up in Canada and in my freetime I paint hockey masks. I have had two manga themed masks, one being DBZ back in '98 and more recently I had a One Piece one to coinside with my university's pirate mascot.

Regardless, I have been doing digital editing for over five years and have worked with photoshop since its inception, and I have been doing manga scans for old friends of mine with my limited japanese vocabulary, but its the thought that counts.

This is my first time working for an official team of manga scanlation, so I hope to make a good impression. Most importantly, I just want to have our work go up and make others enjoy manga as much as I do.

So anyone ever needs an editor/typesetter/proofreader/human spell check, give me a holler and hopefully I can help!

Futhark

So wait, you were invited then, because they found a lucky sap guy to help out?

In any case, welcome welcome. I think you're probably one of the more well traveled members here. You were raised (at least for a time) in Canada, went to East Carolina for University, and then went on to Nevada to work at a hospital....

And here, I've only been out of Ontario once, to go to Quebec....

Quebec is one of the best places in the world. If you speak French. If not, just stay away as they are relatively snooty. I will say that of all the things in the world I miss, it's Tim Horton's. Oh the memories.

And yes I am a sap for joining, but at least I am doing something I have a passion for. Excuse me while I smoke and fulfill my other passion of tar in my lungs. :D

Eh, I only know English myself....If I see basic French written, I could probably get the gist of it, but that's all.

Good thing the internet doesn't do second hand smoke >_>

Sweet another Canadian! (albeit ex-patriot ;) )
Welcome! Awww I love traveling to Quebec (Montreal more than Quebec City) I've always found the people to be warm and friendly (but perhaps it's because I can speak conversational French). Either way they are much friendlier than people in France I don't know what they're problem is but a lot of Parisians act like they have something stuck up their butts (no offense if there is anyone here from Paris but seriously you know it's true). Anyways welcome again!

cheers,
Giselle

p.s. I'm also a recent graduate (post-grad) and I was tempted to write my 'resume' when I made my introduction but decided against it and when I read your introduction I thought 'I should've done the same!' hahaha)

@Giselle - Why not do it now? Call it an update to your intro.

Ex-patriot against my own will.

The intro was more along the lines of me saying, "Hey, I failed at life, but at least I got my degree!" Optimism gets me through though. Thankfully journalism has made me a nit-picky grammar/spelling/editing champ, and should help with the projects here.

Go for the redo on the intro Giselle, spill your guts to the world. Graduate Canadians, HO!
